| ++ Theme of Catechists |
| |
The theme of this year’s Catechetical Sunday is Living for the Load. Let us dedicate this catechetical year to exploring Bible stories that portray individuals and their journeys of “living for the Lord”. When did these characters come to know God? When did they do to show that they made a decision to live for the Load? Scenario after scenario will revel that through their searching and troubles, these biblical characters discovered hope, love, and redemption.
The best thing that can be done for students is to “break open the Word” because it gives direction and provides food for the journey. |

| ++ Text |
| |
This year all grades from kindergarten to grade eight will have religious textbooks published by Brown-Roa, a series of textbooks in which the content reflects the best insights of current theology, methodology, and pedagogical research. The resources are practical and easy to use, designed to meet expressed market needs and written to reflect the teaching of the Catholic Church.
Students in grades kindergarten, three, four, five and six have the first completely new religious education program to be developed in conformity with the teaching of the Catholic Church. The major themes of catechesis are successfully integrated at every grade level.
Grade two will study another Brown-Roa textbook, Celebrating the Gift of Jesus. Also, the Sunday Visitor book, Making Things Right, will be a part of the curriculum for that grade as these children prepare for the sacrament of reconciliation.
Students in grades seven and eight will have textbooks from the Brown-Roa Crossroad’s series and Confirmation books. |
